Lookify Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026.08.03
Last updated: 2026.08.19
Lookify Team ("Lookify", "we", "us", or "our") provides the Lookify mobile application, websites, and related features (collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information when you use the Services, contact us, or otherwise interact with Lookify.
Please read this policy before using Lookify. By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described here. Where a particular processing activity requires your consent, we will request it separately. If you do not want us to process information as described in this policy, do not use the relevant feature or the Services.
1. Scope and role
This policy applies to information processed through Lookify and our related support communications. It does not cover information collected by an independent website, app, payment platform, social network, or other third party that operates under its own privacy policy, even if it can be accessed from Lookify.
For personal information covered by this policy, Lookify Team is generally the controller or business responsible for deciding why and how the information is used. If Lookify processes content for an organization under a separate written agreement, that agreement may identify a different controller and govern the processing for that organization.
2. Information we handle
The information involved depends on how you use Lookify and the permissions you choose to grant.
2.1 Information you provide or direct us to process
We may receive:
- Account and contact details, such as an email address, display name, or information you include when you request support.
- User content, including the photos, videos, text prompts, instructions, and other files you select and submit for a Lookify feature.
- Profile and preference information that you choose to add, where the relevant feature offers it.
- Communications and feedback, including correspondence with our support team, survey responses, and reports of technical issues.
- Transaction-related information, if you purchase a subscription or in-app item. Payments are normally handled by the applicable app store or payment provider. We may receive limited records needed to confirm the purchase, manage access, prevent fraud, or address a billing enquiry; we do not receive or store your full card number from those providers.
Do not upload information that you do not have the right to provide, including another person's image or personal information, unless you have a lawful basis and any permissions required to use it with Lookify.
2.2 Information generated through normal use
When you access the Services, we and our service providers may automatically collect limited technical and usage data, including:
- device model, device language, operating-system version, app version, and browser type where relevant;
- device, installation, and advertising identifiers, where permitted by your device settings and applicable law;
- IP address, approximate location inferred from IP address (such as country or region), time zone, and network information;
- feature usage, settings, pages or screens viewed, interactions, performance information, diagnostic records, and crash reports; and
- security signals used to detect abuse, fraud, or unauthorized access.
This data helps us deliver a reliable service, understand feature performance, diagnose errors, protect the Services, and improve the experience. We do not use precise device location unless a feature clearly asks for it and you give the required permission.
2.3 Sensitive information and permissions
Lookify does not ask you to provide sensitive personal information for ordinary use of the Services. However, photos, videos, prompts, or support messages you choose to submit may incidentally contain sensitive or personal information. Please use care when selecting content. You can control device permissions, such as photo-library, camera, and notification access, in your device settings. Refusing a permission may prevent the associated feature from working.
3. AI media processing and facial imagery
Lookify offers AI-assisted generation, editing, animation, and visual-style features. This section describes the rules that apply when you choose to use them.
3.1 You choose what is sent
Lookify processes only the image, video, prompt, or other media that you intentionally select for a requested AI feature. The app does not silently upload your entire camera roll, photo library, or video library. Device access is used only to let you choose content or create content through the feature you invoke.
3.2 Why we process submitted media
We use the selected content to carry out the feature you request: for example, to generate a new image, animate a photo, apply an effect, edit an image, or deliver a requested visual result. Temporary copies, technical transformations, and logs may be created during the job solely to perform, secure, troubleshoot, and validate that processing.
We do not use your submitted media, facial imagery, or other personal information to train a separate AI model, build unrelated products, identify you, track you, or create advertising profiles, unless we first give you a clear separate notice and obtain any consent required by law.
3.3 Facial imagery and face-related processing
For purposes of this policy, facial imagery means the visible face contained in a photo that you intentionally select, and face-related processing data means transient visual information used during an editing job to locate relevant face and hair regions and preserve the appearance of the person in the requested result. Lookify does not request or collect Face ID data.
Some requested edits may temporarily analyze visible regions such as the face outline, eyes, nose, lips, and hair boundary solely to create the hairstyle, hair-color, animation, or other visual result that you requested. This is image-processing functionality, not facial-recognition functionality.
Lookify does not create, collect, or retain facial-recognition templates, face embeddings, facial geometry used to establish identity, or any persistent biometric identifier. Facial imagery and face-related processing data are not used to identify, authenticate, profile, monitor, or track a person, infer sensitive characteristics, make decisions about a person, or create advertising profiles.
3.4 Where processing occurs and who may assist
To operate AI features, selected media may be securely transmitted to Lookify's systems and to carefully selected cloud-infrastructure, AI-processing, storage, and content-delivery providers acting for us. Those providers may process the content only under our instructions and contractual confidentiality and security obligations. They are not permitted to use it for their own independent purposes, including training their models, unless you have been clearly told otherwise and applicable law permits it.
3.5 Deletion of media and face-related data
Lookify does not persistently store original uploads, temporary AI inputs, face-related processing data, or processing intermediates. They are used only while the requested job is running and are deleted from Lookify's active processing systems immediately after the result is delivered or the job fails or is cancelled. Lookify does not maintain a server-side photo gallery, and these files are not included in Lookify backups. Technical logs do not contain image pixels, facial templates, face embeddings, or face-related processing data.
A generated or edited result is saved only when you choose to save it to your device. A result saved to your device remains under your control and can be deleted through the device's photo-library controls. Lookify does not retain a separate server-side copy after delivery. If processing is interrupted, transient copies are deleted when the processing job ends.
4. Our purposes and legal grounds
We use information for the following purposes:
- to provide requested functions, create and deliver AI outputs, administer accounts, and provide support;
- to operate, maintain, test, improve, and personalize the Services;
- to measure feature performance, investigate failures, and develop service improvements using aggregated or de-identified information where practical;
- to protect users, Lookify, and the public; prevent fraud, abuse, copyright infringement, and security incidents; and enforce our terms;
- to communicate service notices, policy changes, and responses to your requests;
- to meet legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, and record-keeping requirements; and
- with your permission, to perform another purpose that we explain when seeking that permission.
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we process personal information to perform a contract with you or take steps at your request, to comply with law, for our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Services where those interests are not overridden by your rights, or with your consent. You may withdraw consent at any time; withdrawal will not affect processing that was lawful before it was withdrawn and may limit a feature that depends on that consent.
5. When information is disclosed
Lookify does not sell personal information. We do not disclose user content or personal information except as reasonably necessary for the purposes in this policy, including the following situations:
- Service providers. Vendors that host, process, secure, analyze, support, deliver, or improve the Services may receive the limited information required for their work.
- App stores and payment providers. These parties process purchases and may send us confirmation, refund, or fraud-prevention information.
- Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information when we reasonably believe it is necessary to comply with applicable law or a valid legal process, protect rights and safety, investigate a suspected violation, or prevent fraud or security harm.
- Corporate events. Information may be transferred as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, restructuring, insolvency, or sale of all or part of our business, subject to applicable law.
- At your direction or with your consent. For example, where you choose to share content through a feature that makes it available to another party.
We require providers to use appropriate protections and limit their use of personal information to the authorized service. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or sell or share it as those terms are defined by California law.
6. Analytics, cookies, and similar technologies
Our websites and Services may use cookies, SDKs, local storage, and comparable technologies to remember preferences, support functionality, understand usage, measure performance, and protect against fraud. Depending on your device and jurisdiction, you can manage certain technologies through browser controls, operating-system privacy settings, in-app settings, or the consent tools we make available. Blocking some technologies can affect features of the Services.
7. International transfers
Lookify and its providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Those countries may have data-protection laws that differ from your local laws. When a transfer is subject to restrictions, we use the safeguards required by applicable law, which may include contractual commitments, recognized adequacy decisions, or other lawful transfer mechanisms. You can contact us using the details in Section 14 to ask about the relevant safeguards.
8. Retention and deletion
We retain personal information for no longer than reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. The appropriate period depends on the information and context, including the duration of your relationship with us, whether the information is needed to provide a requested feature, a legal retention requirement, the need to resolve a dispute, and the need to enforce agreements or protect the Services.
As described in Section 3.5, user-selected photos, facial imagery, face-related processing data, and processing intermediates are not retained after the requested media-processing job ends. Generated or edited results are not retained by Lookify after delivery and are stored on the device only if the user chooses to save them.
When information is no longer needed, we delete it, de-identify it, or securely isolate it as required by law. Residual copies may remain in protected backups for a limited period until overwritten, and information may be retained where necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims or comply with legal obligations. Requests to delete an account or personal information can be made as described below; deletion does not necessarily remove content you already saved on your own device or shared outside Lookify.
9. Security
We use administrative, organizational, technical, and physical measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, and disclosure. These measures may include encryption in transit, access controls, authentication, logging, provider review, and incident-response processes. No internet transmission, software system, or storage environment is entirely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. Please use a strong password where one is available and keep your device secure.
10. Your choices and privacy rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a portable copy of certain personal information. You may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent, or opt out of particular uses. You may manage some information directly in the Services or on your device.
To submit a privacy request, contact us using the details in Section 14 and specify the right you want to exercise. We may need to verify your identity and authority before responding, and we may decline or limit a request where permitted by law. An authorized agent may submit a request where local law allows, subject to verification. If we deny a request, you may have a right to appeal; our response will explain how to do so when that right applies.
If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. We encourage you to contact us first so that we can try to resolve the matter.
11. Children's privacy
Lookify is intended for adults and is not designed for independent use by children under 13, or below the minimum age required by the laws that apply where the child lives. A parent or legal guardian may use an age-appropriate styling feature on a child's behalf only while actively supervising the child. The parent or guardian must select and submit the content, review the requested feature, have the authority to provide the child's image, and provide any consent required by applicable law. Children must not independently upload photos or other personal information to Lookify.
As described in Section 3.5, a submitted image and any face-related processing data are deleted when the requested processing job ends and are not retained by Lookify. A parent or guardian may contact us to ask whether we hold information relating to a child and request its deletion. If we learn that a child submitted personal information without the required parental involvement or consent, we will promptly investigate and delete it as required by law.
12. Third-party links and features
The Services may contain links to third-party services or allow you to use third-party features. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one. Please review those policies before providing information to them.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the Services, law, or our practices. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date and, where required, provide additional notice through the Services, by email, or by another appropriate method. Your continued use after the effective date of an update means that you accept the revised policy to the extent permitted by law. If an update requires consent, we will seek it before applying that processing.
